Siep Wijsenbeek

The board of the Leiden University Fund (LUF) has appointed Siep Wijsenbeek as the new director of LUF. He takes up this post with effect from 1 February 2016. He comes from Deutsche Bank Asset & Wealth Management where he was responsible for wealth management for charitable and asset funds.

Siep Wijsenbeek succeeds Annah Neve, who has worked for LUF since 2001. The board of the Leiden University Fund is delighted that Annah Neve, with her wealth of experience within the LUF, is prepared to continue to act as adviser to the Fund. The board is grateful to her for her commitment and dedication to the Fund and for her close involvement with the donors, scientists and staff who are affiliated to the LUF.

The board has asked Siep Wijsenbeek to continue the policy of close collaboration with Leiden University. He will therefore be working intensively with the Development and Alumni Relations department.

Siep Wijsenbeek studied Law in Leiden and then built up a career at ABN AMRO, NIBC and Deutsche Bank. He  has strong social commitment and has set up several fund-raising initiatives. He is currently taking a postgraduate programme in Philanthropic Studies at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. As an alumnus of Leiden University, he has always maintained a strong relationship with his Alma Mater, including through the organisation of the Cleveringa lectures in Rotterdam. The board sees in him a committed and accessible director with a solid, business-oriented approach.
