Other student grants

In addition to LISF grants (for individual projects abroad) and CASSA grants (for activities that benefit groups of students), Leiden University students can apply for grants from the following funds:

  • Dr. A.M. Blok Fund
    Aimed at Leiden University students who are planning to spend some time at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
  • Dr. Edith Frederiks Fund
    For medicine students, in particular in the field of surgery, who want to go abroad.
  • Mr. P. Heering sr. Fund
    For law tudents in the field of European or intenational law.
  • H.G. Schermers Study Fund
    Aimed at Leiden Law School students who are planning to travel abroad for classes, an internship or language course.

You can apply for one of these four funds via the LISF application form.

Other student funds are:

  • Clavareau Fund
    Aimed at Leiden Law School students who are planning a research visit to a library abroad.
  • "Ouwe" Fund
    Helps students with special needs due to sickness or a disability to get access to those facilities that will help them to participate fully in their study programme and student life.
  • Mayo Greenberg Fund
    Awards scholarships in Astrophysics, Cosmochemistry and/or Astrobiology to gifted students, preferably from Asia, Africa or South America, who are in need of financial aid.
  • Prof.dr. R.A.V. van Haersolte Fund
    Awards grants to students at the Leiden Institute for Philosophy.
  • SVM Packaging and Environment Scholarship
