Studying is more than just collecting study points. Even though your study time may be limited, it is important to work on your personal development. As a student, you can apply to the LUF for a subsidy or a grant to support you in this.
Are you organising a student activity?
For example, for a study trip, an exhibition, or a play? Then you can submit an application to the Committee on General Subsidies for Student Activities (CASSA). This committee is responsible for assessing subsidy applications. If you have an idea which may benefit a large number of your fellow students, why not submit an application?
Do you want to broaden your horizons during your time as a student?
Have you got an original idea for a study or research project or a work experience period abroad? Then the LUF International Study Fund (LISF) can probably support you with a financial contribution. Your plan must be special, with clear benefits for your study or for the university, and it has to have a clear motivation and be clearly defined. Exceptionally good research projects may also be considered for the Janneke Fruin-Helb grant.
Specific funds for students
The Herman J. Coster Fund supports students from South Africa who study at Leiden University. Students who are eligible may apply for extra financial funding for the cost of living, books, etc. The maximum guaranteed subsidy amounts to about € 1.500,-
