Join the Willemijn Charity Golf Day on 10 June

Friends and family of Willemijn van Woensel are holding a golf tournament to raise money for ovarian cancer research. Willemijn died in 2021 at the age of 57 of ovarian cancer, a fatal disease that affects 1,400 women per year. Every year 1,000 women die from this silent killer.

Willemijn’s wife Anya and friend Margot came up with the idea of the Willemijn Charity Golf Day. The funds raised will go towards immunotherapy research led by Dr Judith Kroep, a medical oncologist at the LUMC. Judith treated Willemijn in her last years and was caring and attentive right until the end.

The target is 50,000 euros. We are already more than halfway to reaching that!

On 10 June we will get together to celebrate life! That was Willemijn’s motto. We will do this with a Charity Golf Day and party in the evening at Delfland Golf Course in Schipluiden.

Participants are expected at Delfland Golf Course at around 10.30 on Saturday 10 June for an 18-hole competition (shotgun) or a beginner’s golf clinic. We will end the day with a dinner and party with music by DJ Herrie.

The programme for the day

10.30 - 11.45: Reception with tea/coffee
11.45 - 12.00: Players go to their shotgun hole
12.00 - 16.30: 18-hole shotgun, with packed lunch on the course
