Key Guardian

Have you ever considered including the LUF in your will? After your lifetime, you can contribute to the future of Leiden University by including the LUF in your will, either as a legacy, as a beneficiary, or as one of your heirs.

As a Key Guardian of the LUF, you give future generations of dedicated scientists and students the opportunity to develop their potential, enabling them to make a valuable contribution to society and to carry your ideals forward in the field of science.

Would you like to learn more about leaving a gift to the LUF? Then request our brochure ‘A Gift for the Future’ (in Dutch) completely free of obligation via this form.

‘It gave me great satisfaction to work in different parts of the world on serious social issues and to work together with different women’s groups, governments, NGOs and UN partners. It was such a worthwhile experience to be part of a movement that really brings about social change for women and girls. That’s why I really wanted to financially support students with their research on this topic.’

‘Several years ago, my husband passed away, and in his will he had included a legacy for the LUF. As Geology is no longer taught in Leiden, I decided to make the amount available to the Faculty of Humanities. After all, we both so greatly enjoyed our studies in Art History. We hope this will give Art History students the opportunity to pursue doctoral research, preferably into the art and culture of Spain.’

‘I requested a brochure about leaving a legacy via the website. It contained information that is familiar if you have some knowledge of tax legislation, but it also mentioned the option of getting in touch when visiting a notary. I did so, which resulted in a very pleasant telephone conversation with the relationship manager who maintains personal contact with testators. She was extremely helpful.’

A lasting impact

Our starting point is – unless you indicate otherwise, of course – the preservation of your legacy. The returns from your gift ensure that we can continue to invest in groundbreaking innovations and discoveries, far beyond what we can imagine today. In this way, you support talented scientists and students well into the distant future. Please do let us know your wishes regarding your donation and the continuation of your ideals.
