Keyholder
As a Keyholder, you help open doors to the future of science and education. Through your valued support, you become part of a select circle of committed donors and are invited to the annual Keyholders’ Dinner – a special evening dedicated to science and meaningful connections.
With an annual contribution – for a minimum period of five years – of at least 500 euros (750 for couples), you become a Keyholder of LUF; donations of 5,000 euros or more automatically elevate you to the next key role: Golden Keyholder.
What to expect
Of course, we keep you informed about all the special projects made possible by your support. We do this via our website, social media, and newsletters tailored especially for you as a donor. In addition, you will receive invitations to:
- The Keyholders’ Dinner
- Academic highlights such as the Opening of the Academic Year, the Dies Natalis, and the Cleveringa Lecture
- Events including lectures, debates, and museum visits
- The Dies Festival for alumni

The Cleveringa Meetings
As a Keyholder, you are welcome to attend almost all our events free of charge – a natural part of your involvement. This applies to the dinner when you join for the first time, when you renew your commitment, or when you introduce a new Keyholder. The only exception are the Cleveringa Meetings, which are organised by local committees.
In addition, you will receive a 10% discount at the University Shop Leiden, be listed on this website in our Keyholders Overview, and receive our LUF Magazine at your door once a year.
May we welcome you as a donor? Complete the Keyholders’ Agreement and become a Keyholder of LUF.
Tailored for young donors
Are you under forty? If so, we would be delighted to welcome you as a Young Keyholder. Through a periodic donation, you contribute from 120 euros per year for a minimum period of five years. As a Young Keyholder, you are involved with LUF in the same way as other Keyholders – including invitations to special events such as the Keyholders’ Dinner.
