Curing diabetes with stem cells
Type 1 diabetes is a condition that has a significant impact on daily life. Insulin is life-saving, but it does not provide a cure. That is why further research is urgently needed. At the new type 1 diabetes research centre, Cure One, Eelco de Koning and other researchers are working on creating insulin-producing cells from stem cells, so that after a transplant, people will no longer have diabetes. Support this research and give people with type 1 diabetes their freedom back.

The majority of the world’s population lives in cities. But what happens when war reaches a city? Now that security in Europe is less of a given, this question is becoming increasingly urgent. Isabelle Duyvesteyn is investigating why some cities are affected by war whilst others are not. This knowledge is essential for policymakers to protect residents, including those in the Netherlands. Please support this research, which contributes to our security.
