The Leiden University Fund has awarded two grants for research in the field of legal history. This funding will support projects on tombstone protection and limitation of maritime liability, conducted by PhD candidates Eva Drommel and Tim Lubbers.

The Executive Board of Leiden University has appointed Dr Alicia Schrikker as Professor of Dutch History in the World, effective 1 January 2026. The chair is based at the Faculty of Humanities Institute of History.

A signing ceremony in the Academy Building on Monday 17 March marked the launch of the Mariella-Aura-Migraine Fund. This named fund, established by Mariella Calis-Maussen, aims to generate more knowledge, attention and awareness of migraine aura. It will support the research group led by Professor of Neurology Gisela Terwindt at the LUMC.
