Committees
In its operations, the LUF is assisted by various committees.
Audit Committee
The Audit Committee supervises the financial policy, asset management and administration of the LUF. It provides its advice to the Board at the meeting in which the annual accounts are approved. The members of the Audit Committee are appointed by the non-executive Board.

- Ms drs. B. Stokhuyzen

The scientific expenditures from named funds and the general resources of the LUF are managed by the Committee for Academic Expenditures (CWB). The CWB consists of professors from Leiden University, one from each faculty. The members are appointed by the LUF Board on the recommendation of the relevant faculty board. The CWB currently comprises the following individuals:

Subject-specific spending committees
The Committee for Academic Expenditures (CWB) handles part of the grant applications, such as those from the annual project grant round for early-career researchers. In addition, the LUF works with a large number of subject-specific spending committees, which are mandated by the CWB. These committees are established based on their expertise in a particular research domain or for a specific target group. For example, the committee of the LUF International Study Fund (LISF) handles grant applications from students for research abroad.
Committee for General Student Activity Grants
The Committee for General Student Activities Grants (CASSA) serves as the link between the LUF and the student community in Leiden and The Hague. CASSA promotes the LUF Student Membership, organises the annual Cleveringa Debate (the Evening of Cleveringa), and evaluates grant applications from student and study associations. The committee is composed of students from various courses, campuses and associations, as well as a number of alumni.
