Leiden University researchers can apply to the Leiden University Fund (LUF) for various grants, such as funding for academic projects or study trips overseas.
All applications are in principle evaluated by the LUF’s Committee for Academic Expenditure (Commissie voor Wetenschappelijke Bestedingen, CWB), which is made up of professors from all faculties of Leiden University. For some specific Named Funds the evaluation of applications is delegated to grant committees.
A part of the grants comes from what are known as Named Funds: funds with a specific purpose. The list divided by faculty gives a good impression of the options but is not exhaustive. If you would like to apply for funding, follow the steps outlined above, and apply for the grant that corresponds best with your plans (research, internship, study abroad etc.). If necessary, we can help you find the best option.
If you have any questions about your application, please contact Henk Snijders (Secretary for Allocation of Funds) at CWB@LUF.leidenuniv.nl or 071 527 49 03.
