Academic project
The Leiden University Fund’s (LUF) Committee for Academic Expenditure (Commissie voor Wetenschappelijke Bestedingen, CWB) awards grants for research and teaching projects in various academic disciplines.
The LUF intends to use these grants to support young postdoc researchers at Leiden University who are just beginning their careers. In principle, the grants vary from €2,600 to €35,000. These subsidies for talented young academics often serve as an important springboard to prepare applicants for future applications to the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and other institutions. These grants are sourced from the general LUF funds and the Named Funds (Dutch) managed by the LUF, as well as from collaborations with external funds, in particular the Gratama Foundation, the Elise Mathilde Fund and the Stichting Verpakking en Milieu (‘Packaging and Environment Foundation’).
Project grants - application procedure
The deadline for next round for project grants is tentatively early 2024. The conditions and application procedure will be similar to those that can be found on the green tile (on the right side of this page or below on your phone).
If you have any questions, please contact the CWB secretariat by e-mail to CWB@luf.leidenuniv.nl (Klaartje Sluijs, Mon-Thu).
Reporting on completed project
We must receive your final report for your project no later than two months after the project is completed. Please submit your final report using the LUF grant portal. Note: for grants which are not applied via the portal, you must use the form for CWB Final Report – Academic projects and the declaration form.
Please see the criteria for the CWB final report to find out what you need to include in your descriptive report. The expenses claim will provide the basis for the grant amount to be decided and paid, and it will help us to show alumni, donors and potential donors what their support has achieved. Your report and photographs will become the property of the LUF and may be used for publication purposes.
