Every year LUF receives project proposals from dozens of researchers at the University. We look at how innovative the project is, at its potential and its relevance to society. A subsidy from LUF is often a springboard for young talent, the first step on the path to bigger awards.
Springboard for young researchers
One good example is Professor of Neurocognitive Development Psychology Eveline Crone, Spinoza winner and author of Het puberende brein (The Brain in Puberty). It was partly the LUF that helped her take the first step in her academic career.
Scientists like Professor Crone are always keen to do something for LUF and its donors in return. Professor Crone spoke enthusiastically about her work at different Cleveringa Meetings and at the Dies Natalis for alumni.
